“I think everything in life is art. What you do. How you dress. The way you love someone, and how you talk. Your smile and your personality. What you believe in, and all your dreams. The way you drink your tea. How you decorate your home. Or party. Your grocery list. The food you make. How your writing looks. And the way you feel. Life is art.”
Helena Bonham Carter

Art and Creativity

I have discovered a great joy of expression and creativity, and incorporate many creative practices into my daily life. These have helped me to find a deepened sense of beauty, awe and freedom in my life.

I am a ceramicist, and also enjoy practices such as conscious movement, journaling, imagery and cards, sound, painting and drawing. I have noticed that these practices help my body and mind move from fixity to flow, and from contraction to expansion. Through our work together, I can help you to find access to these potent practices too.

If your nervous system is in overwhelm, finding the beauty and joy in life can become unavailable to you, or hard to maintain. After all, if you are stuck in a survival state, your nervous system is engaged in searching for cues of danger, rather than responding to signs of beauty.

By gently learning to listen to our biology, it is possible to shift from a predominately survival state, and space can be made for a deeper and more grounded sense of self. The work that we do together to release embodied trauma and stress, and to re-regulate the nervous system, can help you to become more in tune with a creative and more expanded sense of yourself. Once we start to learn the language of the human body, it becomes clearer to see that it is a beautiful work of art.
